Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Thrive you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Thrive is an AI-guided self-exploration app. It offers structured sessions across three areas — Past, Present, and Future — designed to support personal reflection and growth. Sessions are conversational and powered by artificial intelligence. Thrive is not a medical, therapeutic, or counseling service and is not a substitute for professional mental-health care.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years of age to use Thrive. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Accounts
When you first open Thrive an anonymous account is created automatically so the app can function. You may optionally link an email address to sync your milestones across devices. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Thrive offers a Pro subscription available on a monthly or annual basis through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Pricing is displayed in the app before purchase. Free trials. If a free trial is offered it is clearly disclosed before you subscribe. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the advertised price. Renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain access until then. Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. Thrive does not process refunds directly.
6. Session Credits
Pro subscribers receive a monthly allowance of sessions. Additional session credits may be purchased as one-time in-app purchases. Credits are added immediately and do not expire — they accumulate and carry forward until used. Purchased credits are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
7. Your Content
You retain ownership of any text, goals, or other content you provide while using Thrive ("Your Content"). By using the app you grant Thrive a limited, non-exclusive license to transmit Your Content to our AI provider solely for the purpose of generating session responses. This license terminates when Your Content is deleted or your account is closed.
8. Conversations & Data Handling
Session conversations are stored on your device and are not uploaded to or retained on Thrive servers. Conversation data is transmitted to our infrastructure only during a session, in real time, to generate AI responses — it is not stored after the session ends. Milestone and badge data (mode completed, date) may be synced to our servers if you have linked an account. For details on what data is collected and how it is used, refer to our Privacy Policy when available.
9. AI-Generated Content
Responses in Thrive sessions are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for personal reflection purposes only. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your particular situation. Thrive does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, therapy, or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency service immediately.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: • Use Thrive for any unlawful purpose • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app or its AI models • Circumvent or manipulate subscription, trial, or session-credit mechanisms • Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the service • Interfere with the operation or security of the service
11. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the Thrive app — including its design, code, AI prompts, articles, and branding — belong to Thrive and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Thrive trademarks or branding without prior written permission.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Thrive at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination your right to use the app ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including limitations of liability) will remain in effect.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Thrive is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Thrive and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the app — regardless of the theory of liability. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to Thrive in the twelve months preceding the claim.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and, where practical, notify you within the app. Your continued use of Thrive after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Thrive operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
